Come and celebrate the 151st Melbourne Cup and feel the anticipation and excitement on the streets of the City of Melbourne as we build up to the race the stops a nation™. Greet past champion thoroughbreds and all the jockeys and trainers starring in the 2011 Emirates Melbourne Cup as they take aim at the world's most prestigious racing prize.
The parade commences at 12 noon along Swanston Street, concluding at Federation Square with the official Emirates Melbourne Cup media conference from 12.45pm. Attend this free public event to hear the final word from the trainers and jockeys of Australia's most anticipated sporting event, the Emirates Melbourne Cup.
