Perth Royal Show, Western Australia 2006

The Itchy Feet Pep Band retuned to Perth in September 2006 for a repeat series of performances at the Perth Royal Show.  Following their successful performances in 2003 the band again made daily performances out and about at the showgrounds.

Itchy Feet once again proved that a roving band of musicians can draw everyone’s attention, with each of the daily performances bringing together crowds of people to watch and enjoy the band’s antics.  With some members of the audience returning to the show just to see them, Itchy Feet was a hugely popular attraction. Adults and kids alike giggled and clapped through each performance.

The final, most exciting performance was on the arena during the final night of the Show in conjunction with the New Zealand Army Band.  After sharing dressing rooms for the week, the two bands fused during their arena appearances and caused mayhem and confusion, only to result in a spectacular finale of the likes the audience had never seen.

The Itchy Feet Pep Band can adapt their performance to any occasion, and the Perth Show was a perfect example of what the bands creativity and flexibility can achieve.  With the dressing rooms tucked away behind vendors’ caravans, the band was able to appear out of nowhere and begin roving through an unsuspecting audience.  As they made their way to the static performance areas people would gather from all around and walk with the band as they weaved towards their destination.
